GRAPHIC PICTURES from after surgery. Open with caution

I survived!! Okay, I knew I'd survive but it sounds so nice and dramatic! My entire thyroid is officially gone and they were even able save all four parathyroid glands. My pt glands did take a little kickin' though, so I am temporarily on calcium supplements.
This should mean...no hot flashes, easier time getting pregnant, regulated metabolism and an over all healthier feeling.
I had a drain in my neck for the first 24 hours. It wasn't as bad as I expected

This was once I got home. I had a little allegic reaction to the tape they used...that's what all of the redness is about. The incision itself is looking got. My neck is very swollen this morning and of course uncomfortable. I made the mistake of NOT taking vicodin from 2pm-730am(I'd been feeling pretty good before bedtime with just ibuprofen). Definitely won't do that again. I got caught up with my pain pills and am feeling much better now though.

Thanks everyone for all of you thoughts and prayers...they worked!

So... I'm not quite sure why but for some reason I thought the tube would be at least five times the size of the actual one you got. I'm slightly disappointed since it completely ruins all the images I had of you trying to hide it with a scarf. Got to love when I feel the need to share!
