Our week in review

I haven't posted in a week in a half....since we've moved. The move went well and other than being crammed into 950 sq ft and missing a few items that may have ended up in storage, it's been pretty good.

This weekend has been amazing. It's a high of 70*, we have no yardwork to do, no packing, no unpacking.....ahhhhh, sweet relaxation! During the last week we've been to the zoo, Caleb's(Ayla's little BFF) soccer game, the park, Millard Days and tonight we're going to have a picnic for dinner. Ayla's learned to open the refrigerator(eek!), ride a scooter and open the sliding glass door to escape. I'm telling you, this little girl is giving us a run for our money!

It's looks like....

A house!! We have windows, siding...even a front door. It's so exciting and fun to see the progress now, every week that goes by we are witnessing huge changes. Ayla is standing in the kitchen, in front of our imaginary kitchen sink. The plumbing rough in are almost complete and they are starting on the electrical rough ins now. Ayla thinks it's great fun to carry the cut off pieces of plastic piping.
This is Ayla's bathroom...she has a tub!

The fireplace in the basement is in but not the one upstairs yet.

And of course...the MIL suite. It has a pretty tree view

T minus 15 hours and counting

Until the movers get here, that is. We STILL aren't completely packed, it may be a loooong night. We have way too much. Period. Just too much of everything. I'm finding every reason in the world not to pack...hence the lovely update here.

On a funnier note, Ayla was crying last night at bedtime because she wanted to go sleep in her new room in the apartment. Go figure. ;)

On the homefront

I know I haven't updated on this for awhile now, but our new home is coming along nicely. We're expecting a closing date of mid November. It's framed and the roof is actually complete now also, aside from shingles. This is the kitchen

I'm standing in the front part of the living room toward the back of the house, Ayla is in the dining room near the front door. The kitchen and master bedroom is to the left. There are stairs to go down and bedrooms to the right.

On another note...we're moving into an apartment for a few months. It's really weird, I haven't lived in an apartment for 10 years. It's okay, nothing luxurious. It was really hard to find a place where we could bring our two large dogs AND do month to month leasing. So now we have linoleum, brass fixtures and neighbors who smoke, woohoo!! Sigh. Really, it's just a few months...no big deal. Oh, the bonus - we have a pool!!

This is the living room. We're on ground level.

This is our kitchen/dinette. You're jealous, I can feel it :)

Have I mentioned lately, that I HATE moving??

Because, I do. I really, really do. I am on the neurotic side, I freely admit this. I like things in order, put away, where they go. EVERYTHING has a place and when it isn't being used, it should be in that place.

When you're moving, nothing is where it is supposed to be, it doesn't even have it's own little spot anymore. There are boxes, piles, stacks and a general cramped and messy feeling. I HATE that feeling. That is why I never used to go into my basement...it had to be cleaned out and organized.

I am living in disarray and it's stressful. Maybe I should be on meds or something:) and I'm only half kidding!

I did move up our move-out date, I'm pretty sure the quicker I get this mess taken care of the better!

Daddy and Ayla bonding time

And they love purple!Align Center

GUESS WHAT?!?!?!?!

It's actually been "sold" for about a month but some final little negotiations have been underway and I didn't want to jinx it!! It's official now though, we even have the sign to prove it :) :) :)

Hip-hip hooray!!!! Except now we have to pack...we're moving into an apartment on the 21st of this month as our home won't be finished until November!

Our picnic at the park....

...ended shortly after we got there. Sadly, it wasn't due to weather or overcrowding. Ayla was climbing up the playground equipment and lost her footing. She caught herself with her mouth, on a metal stair. OUCH!!
Of course, because the mouth is so vascular - it bled...and bled, and bled. It swelled up instantly and her upper gums in the front of her mouth turned dark purple. I knew they wouldn't do anything about lacerated gums as the mouth is self healing but I was worried about her teeth. So, off to the ER we went.
Darren met us there(our picnic was with Holly and her kids) and we were seen quickly. Three of her front, top teeth are loose. They will retighten though. She is on a soft diet for 2 weeks. Here is the big kicker though.... the roots to her teeth may or may not have been bruised. There is no way to know, but if they have been bruised - they will likely turn brown over the next couple of months. That makes me want to cry! If they become abscessed, they'll have to be pulled. I really can't handle the thought of that right now, she has such an amazingly sweet little smile.
Her only happy time last night was in the tub, because that's always fun. I snapped a few shots of her mouth. Here you can see that she split her bottom lip but the real injury is above her top teeth. In the following pictures you can see from her profile and the shape of her mouth, the amount of swelling she has. She normally doesn't have much of an upper lip. Also, her teeth do not have gaps between them, that is the bruised and swollen tissue pushing through her teeth.

This morning she woke up crying. I don't know if she's ever done that. We're doing popsicles, applesauce, soft canned fruit, cottage cheese, some yogurt, jello, ice cream etc. Once we can move on to warmer things we'll try some soup, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese...

***small little update***
I called her dentist and they are going to see her next Monday for xrays. We are waiting until the swelling goes down and it isn't quite as tender. They'll have to move her lip, feel her teeth etc.
