Time for some Aylaisms

I thought it was probably time for some more Ayla funnies...they're now happening on a very regular basis. She's quite the little character and seriously, a LOT of work :)

I got out of the shower to Ayla's eyebrows covered in black mascara and enough lipstick for 12 overly perfumed old women. Her response. I'm boo-fa-ful Mom! Too bad I didn't get to grab a picture. I was in a towel and she was heading for our bed, it needed to be washed off asap.

At the grocery store check out line..."Mommy, we don't touch our buttholes cuz they're dirty, right?"

While at dinner, in a restaurant, in her loud kid voice...."I think I'm gonna go try to poop" (we're quite obsessed with poop and butts these days)

In the car "Momma, you're the best" This one melted my heart

Pulling into my parent's driveway and notices my mom standing in the front door, holding baby cousin Livi. "What's SHE doing here?" Hmm, jealous much??

Laying in bed with my mom in my mom's bedroom for naptime(I was in the hospital). "Your room is scusting". My mom, horrified, said "Ayla, I love my room! I love the color and everything in here!" Ayla thought about it for a minute or two and replied "Gigi, I love all your crap too"

Ayla's new job

Since we've been living in apartment world, Ayla has a new job. Bunny walking! Poor Ming-Ming can't exactly be put in a pen, in the yard here for exercise. So Ayla takes him for his walks. He loves hopping around in the grass and she thinks he's pretty fun too. Sadly, Ming-Ming escaped his harness yesterday and disappeared. Funny enough, we got a call this morning...he had made his way to the leasing office and because they've seen Ayla walking Ming-Ming, they knew he was ours.

This is just too cute not to share.....little Miss Priss with her new furry boots on. She thinks she should wear them everyday.

One of the biggest honors

Last weekend, Darren and I became Alivia's Godparents. It was such an awesome day. She looked like a little angel is her beautiful white dress. She is just the softest, prettiest, cuddliest little bundle and we are honored to be chosen to help her on her way to an amazing relationship with Christ.
On another note. I will be babysitting Livi Monday thru Thursday beginning on Monday the 12th. Sabrina is going back to work, just four days a week. I won't have her forever, at least until January though. Ayla and I are so very excited to add Livi to our daily routine. Sabrina isn't quite as excited of course. Hopefully though, she'll have some comfort in being able to leave Livi with us rather than strangers.

I've been dreading this one...

But here I go!
When we went to Carolina Beach last month, I ended up hospitalized. That's super fun...especially when you're paying to be in an ocean front condo. Are you feeling my sarcasm? Anyway. I was in an irregular heart rhythm(rapid afib) an put on a cardizem drip for 12 hours before I converted back to regular sinus rhythm. I can't thank God enough for that because I was scheduled to be shocked in the morning(called cardioversion). That would basically stop my heart momentarily so that it could restart in a regular rhythm.
They ended up doing a ton of bloodwork and found that I have a hyperactive thyroid. That in itself isn't such a big deal and is easily treated. However, it has toyed with my heart a bit. I saw an endocrinologist when we returned to Omaha and he wants to remove my thyroid. The same day that I saw the endocrinologist and said my heart has been fine...I flipped back into rapid afib. Irony at it's finest.
I ended up being admitted to Lakeside Hospital in the ICU. Same thing....hours and hours on the cardizem drip, more beta blockers and they added an antiarrhytmic. Also some meds to shrink my thyroid before surgery. I am taking more pills than most 80 year old women. Lovely. However, I did once again avoid being shocked back into a normal rhythm. Praise God!
Me in the ICU, boring little room. Pretty flowers from my parents and Ayla. I should have given my mom flowers....we brought Ayla to them at midnight(on our way to the ER) and she kept her for 3 days/nights. Thanks mom and dad.
My fabulous little pill regimen. I even got myself a snazzy little pill box.

I will have surgery sometime in November(probably right around the time we close on our new home, of course) to remove my thyroid and will then be on synthroid for the rest.of.my.life.

My little girl and each of her three summers!

Every year we go to the lake for the 4th of July. This year though, we went to North Dakota. When we got to the lake this last weekend I took a picture of Ayla in her annual 4th of July spot. It's so funny to watch how she changes and grows from year to year.
